Pedal Power for SANDS

 1 Jul 2014

C&D Group and Swindon College Old Boys have risen to the challenge again; this time in an epic bike ride from Swindon to Paris to raise money for C&D's elected charity SANDS.

The team will be jumping on their bikes and cycling their way to Paris in a three day charity bike ride.

The fantastic charity SANDS supports anyone affected by the death of a baby. They work in partnership with health professionals to try to ensure that bereaved parents and families receive the best possible care and funds. Their vital research could help to reduce the numbers of babies dying and families devastated by this tragedy.

In many hospitals across the UK, bereaved parents are taken to a bereavement suite where they can spend time with their baby and bond as a family.  Unfortunately the Great Western Hospital in Swindon does not have such a ward.  Swindon SANDS (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society) are now raising £50,000 for two rooms to be converted in a much needed bereavement suite.

C&D Group will be supporting this worthy cause with members Greig Evenett and Danny Goggin from the Swindon College Old Boys RFC providing lots of pedal power.

C&D used their presence at the Old Town Festival this weekend to continue raising money for the challenge. Congratulations go to Lauren Huxtable who correctly guessed the amount of sweets in the jar at C&D’s SANDS fundraiser with a fabulous guess of 245, the total amount was 243. Lauren’s friend collected the prize on her behalf from C&D Manager Greig Evenett at the offices of their client WHSmith, where Lauren’s father is an employee.
