The C&D Group have been selected to exclusively source candidates for our brand new client who will be opening an exciting new store based in Westfeild Shopping Centre, Shepherds Bush, London.

Läderach is a family run business with 60 stores worldwide. They are master suisse chocolatiers.

Rudolf Läderach Jr. invented and patented the revolutionary process to manufacture thin-walled hollow balls for truffles, which makes the professional manufacture of truffles significantly easier and improved their quality.

Goals

The successful candidate will

  • Manage the branch and all branch employees;
  • empower employees to sell Läderach products and services and provide advice to customers and interested parties;
  • be the point of contact for customers and employees in Läderach branches;
  • be the face of the company for customers and act as a key communicator of corporate values to customers and employees.

Strategy

The Store Manager is responsible for

  • managing the branch including the hierarchical and professional management of all branch employees;
  • efficient allocation of human resources;
  • ensuring a positive, high-quality purchasing and brand experience;
  • increasing brand recognition in the relevant market;
  • sales-boosting and attractive product presentation;
  • providing knowledgeable advice to customers about the company’s products and services;
  • selling products and processing cash register transactions in branches;
  • optimising in-store product management, ensuring shelves are regularly stocked with confectionery and chocolates;
  • achieving key performance indicator targets within their area of responsibility.

Duties

  • Employee management responsibilities: The jobholder will manage the employees in their area. They will delegate and organise work in accordance with corporate guidelines in a judicious and independent manner by promoting personal responsibility. They will ensure interaction within the team through clear communication and promoting positive behaviour and flawless productivity in the team through motivational measures
  • They will create the employee roster and ensure that it runs smoothly and cost-effectively. They will ensure that the team feels at ease in a challenging environment and the quality of work is consistent with the high standards.
  • Advising customers: As a senior employee, the jobholder will set a positive example regarding service, friendliness and appearance. They are also responsible for training employees in accordance with Läderach’s guidelines. They will ensure that all employees know the full range of products and services. They will respond to customers in a professional, knowledgeable and independent manner and direct them, if required, to the line manager for further information. They will ensure that employees keep customers happy by having good conversational skills, responding to customers in a professional, knowledgeable manner and encouraging additional sales.
  • Product management: The jobholder will manage products orders so that there are always the right amount of goods at the right time in the right place. They will also optimise product management in the store. This will prevent any missed sales and ensure that write-offs are under the budgeted amount.
  • Product presentation and shop window/store design: The Store Manager is responsible for sales-boosting, attractive product presentation and both implementing and checking sales plans, staging and layout guidelines. They will work with their team to implement the sales and marketing plan guidelines. They are responsible for ensuring that the creations are prepared on time, that staging is done in accordance with guidelines and that individual product group layouts are set out according to the guidelines. They will check that everything has been completed and that the store is ready to sell to customers.
  • Financial responsibility: The jobholder will react to events appropriately and take constructive measures. The deputy will know the key figures and their significance.
  • Training/development: The jobholder is responsible for ensuring that all new employees are registered for the compulsory courses “Welcome to the chocolate family” and “Frisch und Fit 1+2” after the probationary period. They are also responsible for ensuring that employees are registered in a timely manner, have attended the courses, actively implement the content and are regularly checked based on the course information.
  • Hygiene policy: The jobholder will implement the hygiene policy in accordance with regulations and set an active example of them for the employees. They are responsible for ensuring that all employees know the cleaning plan and hygiene policy, implement these in line with regulations and use the associated products.
  • Safety policy: The jobholder is responsible for ensuring that the safety policy is implemented in accordance with regulations. They will provide annual training for employees and document the training. They are responsible for ensuring that employees know the safety policy and are able to implement it correctly in the event of an emergency.

Requirements

  • Management experience in retail; management qualification desirable
  • Enjoys conducting employee training
  • Has sales experience in the confectionery industry/retail trade
  • Enjoys selling, demonstrates attention to quality
  • Stylish, smart appearance and excellent manners
  • Works independently, rapidly and precisely
  • Fluent English, other languages an advantage
  • Reliable and flexible
  • Able to work weekends

Performance measurement

  • Annual employee appraisal based on the following criteria:
    • Management expertise, technical and practical expertise, social and professional skills, achieving objectives, etc.
