Senior Customer Service Administrator

Funeral Customer Service Administrator

Salary: £22,425/annum (£11.50/hour)

Estimated bonus annually: £3000 - £4000 (eligible once 6-month probation is passed)

Hours: 8:00- 17:00 Monday to Friday (1/2 for lunch)

Holiday: 24 days annually (excluding bank holidays)

UK Driving License is needed, as you may be required to make home visits to remote places

The role on offer is a challenging position that encompasses all aspects of the funeral trade. The primary tasks in this role are administrative there will however be occasions when cover or assistance will be required for the Funeral Operative.

Main Duties:

  • Completing documentation and arrangements for funerals (cremation, burials and the interment of ashes) including liaising between ministers and families and doctors or hospitals.
  • Maintaining both manual and computerised records of funerals.
  • Invoicing clients and following up unpaid accounts.
  • Meeting clients in office to take funeral instructions.
  • Administration of donations.
  • Maintaining accurate details of ashes held.
  • General office duties including answering telephone queries, correspondence and Sage accounts. (Sage experience not a necessity)
  • Production of service sheets in Publisher.
  • Other duties as required.

Flexibility: The funeral business can be very unpredictable, and the employee will be expected to adopt a very flexible approach to their work and may be expected to work overtime with little or no warning.

(Permanent employment after 6 months on suitable probation.)

Pension Scheme:

After the 6-month probationary training period employees contribute into the Company Pension Scheme.  Employer contributes 6.5% of basic salary.

Uniform Provided – You will be expected to wear business attire until probation is passed.

Personal Requirements:

Applicants should have a good telephone manner, smart appearance and a sensitive and caring disposition.  A strong background in administration and customer service is essential.  The successful client will need to be adaptable and able to work unsupervised with a ‘can do’ attitude.  Training will be provided.
