Purchasing Administrator

C&D are working in partnership with a Swindon based manufacturing company to recruit for a Purchasing Administrator. This is a full-time and permanent administration support role, reporting directly into the UK Purchasing Manager.

The purpose of the role is to assist with the purchase of items and associated administrative tasks required by the business, professionally, efficiently and in its best interests.

Responsibilities of the role will include;

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers - face to face, via the telephone and over email
  • Assist with obtaining all supplier quotes at pre-order stage 
  • Liaise with existing suppliers to determine if anticipated quantity and delivery times are correct
  • Ensure the transportation of items purchased overseas is done cost effectively with reputable hauliers
  • Assist with reviewing stock levels
  • Resolve any queries raised by accounts with regards to variances between purchase orders and their corresponding invoice
  • Liaise with the warehouse to ensure they are able to receive scheduled deliveries
  • To provide assistance to the Purchasing Manager as required

The standard working hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. Previous experience within a Purchasing capacity is not essential, however strong and proven administration experience is a must.
