An opportunity has arisen for a Production Engineer to join a well established manufacturing company based in Bristol. Established for 70 years, this company is a well-known brand and has earned a reputation for building well designed and equipped products. 

As a Pre-Production Build Engineer, you will direct and assist in the building and production process of vehicles. Ideally with an understanding of small panel production, you will also have the ability to plan and schedule whilst solving any problems.

Responsibilities of the role;

  • Ensure the products are built in accordance with the overall timing program, highlighting any potential overruns
  • Work with the appropriate General Manager to ensure all employees are involved in the production process as they should be
  • Provide technical feedback to the design team 
  • Identify areas that require improvement during the build process
  • Work with the quality department to define quality standards on critical areas & items and create SOP's
  • Write SOP's for any new or critical processes identified in the pre-production stage 
  • Identify and share areas where the proposed design could be improved
  • Lead any training required on new capital equipment
  • Maintain a clean and safe work place in accordance with health and safety guidelines
  • Attend daily team review meetings

Applicants must possess the following;

  • Proficient in 3D Solidworks
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Experience of report writing and project management
  • Ability to run training sessions, presentations and team meetings
  • Although not essential, it would be an advantage to be CAD proficient
  • Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering

The standard working hours are Monday to Thursday 7.30am-4.30pm, and Friday 7.30am-12.30pm.
