Head Receptionist

The C&D Group are working in partnership with a Wiltshire based hotel to recruit for a Head Receptionist. For this role, Reception experience is essential although industry background is not. This is a great opportunity to move into the hospitality sector.

This role is offered on a temporary to permanent basis, with the role becoming permanent after a period of 12 weeks for the successful candidate. The role will incur a 40-hour working week.

The purpose of the role is to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the hotel during the shift. Duties include;

  • To operate the very busy hotel switchboard, answering calls to the hotel standard, ensuring that all are correctly handled or directed.
  • To be fully aware of hotel activities and facilities
  • To welcome all guests on their arrival and assist them in a courteous, helpful manner with registration and when checking out of the hotel
  • To be fully aware of the hotel cash handling and credit procedures and to report any discrepancies to the Hotel Manager immediately
  • To be constantly aware of the hotels availability in order to maximise all opportunities to sell rooms at the best possible rate
  • To monitor all guest accounts and to make sure all charges posted are correct with supporting documentation
  • To take enquiries / reservation for accommodation, restaurant, afternoon tea, weddings, functions ensuring all necessary information is completed and recorded accurately
  • To upsell all facilities within the hotel to guests, eg. restaurant, bar, etc.

This role will be working on a rota basis - shifts will consist of 7am-3pm and 3pm-11pm. You will be required to work 5 days out of 7 weekly.

This role requires a hardworking and committed individual who will be proactive and bring ideas to the table.
