The C&D Group are currently recruiting for an experienced Expeditor to work for a well established company based in Bristol. 

  • Expeditor
  • Initially a 3 month contract position starting ASAP with the potential of the role being extended after the 3 months
  • Monday to Thursday 7.30am – 5pm and 7.30am – 12.30pm every Friday
  • £10.00 - £10.35 per hour

Summary of the Role

The expeditor will chase suppliers to ensure deliveries arrive in a timely manner and ensure the production line are ready for the shipment. This role will also include inspecting the quality of the products and ensuring they are of the right specification.

 

Main Responsibilities will include :-

  • Compile and maintain material and parts inventory and status information to expedite movement of material and parts between production areas, according to predetermined production schedules and order priorities
  • Reads production schedules, inventory reports, and work orders to determine type and quantity of materials required, availability of stock, and order priority.
  • Liaise with department supervisors to determine overdue material and parts and to inform supervisors of material status
  • Locate and distribute materials to specified production areas, manually or using handcart, hand truck, or forklift
  • Record and maintain perpetual inventory of quantity and type of materials and parts received, stocked, and distributed, manually or using computer
  • Compile and maintain records, such as material inventory records, production records, and timecards, manually or using computer
  • May examine material received, verify part numbers, and check discrepancies, such as damaged or unmarked parts
  • May compare work ticket specifications to material used at workstations to verify appropriate assignment
