EHS Advisor

Environmental Health & Safety Advisor 

Salary: £25,000 - £35,000

Location: Melksham, Wiltshire

Hours: 37.5/week

Purpose of position: Ensure the safe running of site by providing EHS advice and support  to  all  functions,  while  also  ensuring  all regulatory requirements and  ISO  standards  are  maintained accordingly.

Education: Degree standard or professional equivalent

Professional experience/qualifications:

  • NEBOSH Diploma qualified or relevant experience.
  •  Experience in managing a SHE function within a complex manufacturing environment.
  •  Experience in acting as an internal change agent.
  •  A solid and up-to-date understanding of legislative framework, regulations, codes of practice and the workings of statutory agencies

Additional skills and requirements:

  • Good IT skills.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.

 

  • The ability and willingness to travel to other sites, including internationally.

 

  • Demonstrated CPD.

Indicative main responsibilities / duties

  • Responsible for setting Melksham site policy and strategy in line with Company and legal compliance requirements
  • Work closely with all departments at Melksham to champion the safe and legally compliant running of the site
  • Assist the Head of Quality & EHS in setting, implementing and maintaining UK wide EHS policy, strategy and statutory/legal compliance
  • Ensures the establishment of effective structures and systems for the management of health and safety and development of the appropriate culture and behaviours at Melksham
  • Oversee information systems, management tools and databases to ensure that Melksham can measure effectiveness, plan priorities and identify significant organisational risks, trends and issues
  • Maintain oversight of external SHE accreditation for Melksham, assisting other sites as required
  • Liaise and co-ordinate activity with the regulatory agencies as required, ensuring legal compliance
  • Continuously review / audit the arrangements for health and safety, recommend and implement changes / improvements as required
