Credit Control Team Manager - Newbury - £32k+ per annum (Salary Negotiable based on experience)

You will need to have demonstrated skills in a fast-paced credit department taking full ownership of a debt ledger while also leading a team to success

 

  • Lead, coach and manage the team
  • Ensure the team resources are managed effectively and activity prioritised to support business priorities.
  • Ensure effective communication and performance management systems are operated including the setting of objectives and performance standards with regular reviews against progress and appropriate documentation
  • Act as a role model and inspire excellence by continually demonstrating management and leadership imperatives.
  • Full review of Quality Assurance monitoring and coaching best outcomes for our customers.
  • Implement and contribute to improving effective Collections strategies to maximise recoveries in line with regulatory guidelines
  • Be the escalation points for challenging customer situations that arise in the process of collecting customer contractual obligations and understanding the specific scenario and regulations applicable to support the team to deal with the issue.
  • In instances of significant arrears or default, to represent the company in interactions with the customer to seek resolution and negotiate terms and secure asset return where necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and specifically that which relates to Data Protection, Consumer Credit Act (CCA), Money Laundering, Consumer Credit Directive (CCD) and Treating the Customer Fairly (‘TCF’) and attend update training as may be required from time to time.
  • To ensure the team understand and comply with FCA guidelines
  • Monthly individual monitoring and coaching with team on QA results.
  • Ensure that all personal data is held in accordance with the Principles of Data Protection and GDPR

 

Skills Required

 

Team management experience 

Prior Retail/Financial Services Credit experience

Excellent administration skills

Effective communication skills

Good numerical skills

Experience of query management and complaints handling

Prior experience within a Regulated collections environment

Assertive & supportive communication style especially on telephone

Good prioritisation skills

Ability to work in different software platforms
