C&D are working in partnership with a Swindon based company to recruit for a Commissioning Editor. This is a full-time and permanent position where you will work within the Content Department.

Reporting into the Content Manager, the purpose of the role will be to commission, write and sub-edit first class content across the company's print and digital channels. You will ensure the Content team's print publications run smoothly, to deadline and to budget as well as ensuring the consistency of quality, tone and accuracy across all text-based projects.

Key Responsibilities will include;

  • Work with the Content Manager to implement the content strategy and support wider business departments
  • Work as the company lead sub-editor
  • Checking and correcting text for grammar, spelling and consistency
  • Ensuring factual correctness
  • Ensuring compliance with libel and copyright laws
  • Ensure that projects run to deadline 
  • Manage projects through proofing and checking process

Person Specification;

  • Degree level or equivalent
  • Proven writing experience
  • Expert level sub-editing skills
  • Expert level commissioning skills
  • Proven experience of managing external writers and contributors
  • Knowledge of the IT industry

Standard working hours for this role are Monday to Friday 8.30am-5.00pm.
