Business Analyst

Salary from £30,000/annum

Locations: Swindon

Hours: 35 hours/week

The C&D Group are working in partnership with a Swindon based company to recruit for a Business  Analyst. This is a full-time and permanent position reporting to the Head of Business Change.

Role Context:

Provides investigation and analysis for business projects to achieve strategic business goals.

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Identify areas for improvement within the business
  • Elicit, define and document business requirements, including the ‘as is’ and ‘to be’ situation;
  • Identify risks and issues likely to impact on projects;
  • Lead workshops to determine and prioritise requirements and their scope;
  • Map and challenge current processes to identify potential improvements and efficiencies;
  • Make recommendations and obtain necessary agreement for process and system improvements;
  • Work closely with business users (including senior managers) on ideas, business cases, feasibility studies and where necessary vendor selection;
  • Work closely with Project Managers to support project delivery;
  • Support User Acceptance Testing phases of project delivery
  • Flexibility is required of all job holders to adjust responsibilities as required from time to time by their Line Manager/Divisional Director;

Skills, qualifications & knowledge:

Education and qualifications

 Educated to degree level, or the equivalent through training and experience

 Foundation Certificate in Business Analysis

Desirable

 Professional membership of BCS - MBCS

 Practitioner Certificate in Business Analysis Practice

Or

 Practitioner Certificate in Requirements Engineering

 ISQTB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing.

TIL Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management

Experience

• Demonstrable experience of defining business processes and implementing change

• Demonstrable experience of writing requirement documents including user stories and their acceptance criteria

• Demonstrable experience of identifying project risks and issues

• Demonstrable experience of working within an agile environment using Scrum, Kanban or other agile methods

• Proven ability to contribute to management reporting

Competencies and skills

• Quick learner – able to adapt to changing technologies and processes

• Self-starter - able to hit the ground running and quickly take on a busy workload

• Skilled in communicating at all levels, verbal and written, internally and externally

• Able to confidently discuss and demonstrate requirements with other business\project team members

• Able to work across multi-faceted teams

• Well organised and capable of managing own time efficiently and effectively

• Self-motivated and prepared to take decisions based on own initiative

The standard hours of work for this role are Monday to Friday 9.15am - 5.15pm. The company offers fantastic benefits including free on-site parking.
