The role and responsibilities
Reporting to the Life Cycle and Forward Works Manager conduct building condition surveys on the clients’ estate whilst managing a program of Building Condition surveys in accordance with CLIENT Estates Strategy, statutory requirements, engineering good practice and KBR management processes and procedures.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete Building condition surveys on the CLIENT’s nationwide estate
  • Collate, update and maintain an accurate Survey program for the CLIENT Estate in line with KBR procedures and processes and the contract.
  • Provide advice to the CLIENT for asset renewal and replacement of building elements and systems.
  • Work with the Life Cycle and Forward Works Manager to provide required technical advice to the CLIENT on condition of the estate.
  • Support the KBR subcontractor in the undertaking of condition surveys to inform the Forward Works / Lifecycle Plan.
  • Manage the business interface with the Supply Chain with regards to building condition surveys.
  • Update the Forward Works / Lifecycle Plan with data from the building condition surveys
  • Work with the Life Cycle and Forward Works Manager to provide reports to the CLIENT on overall condition.
  • Ad hoc duties as may be deemed necessary
Qualifications:
Essential:
  • A bachelor’s degree in building surveying or construction related discipline.
  • Hold, have held or eligible to apply for security clearance
Desirable:
  • NEBOSH, IOSH, or  British Safety Council safety certification
  • Member of RICS or have the ability to apply for direct membership
Experience and Skills:
Essential:    
  • Experience of Building condition surveyors of M&E plant and equipment
  • Experience of working in commercial or government asset portfolios including infrastructure.
  • Experience in planning programmes of work for FWP and lifecycle management
  • Understanding of the latest Building Condition Surveys techniques
  • Proven track record of managing of Building Surveyors and survey projects
  • Knowledge of asset data bases and CAFM Systems.
  • Good interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Proven client facing skills with the confidence to deal with people at all levels.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively as part of a wider team.
  • Good communication, numeracy and presentation skills.
  • Good written communication skills including report writing.
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Project, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Proven financial awareness
Desirable:
  • Experience of working in a secure environment
  • Knowledge of Concept and Share point
  • Understand of what constitutes a Fire Risk Assessment (FRA)
