Employers forced to offer more for skilled candidates

 20 Jul 2017

UK employers are being forced to pay more to recruit candidates with top skill sets.
The ongoing skills shortage is compelling UK employers to increase salaries to attract new employees and retain their best talent.
The Open University surveyed 400 companies and these almost all admitted that finding skilled candidates was proving far more challenging than in the past.  This is due in part to the lowest UK unemployment rate in many years.
More than half of the companies that took part in the survey advised that they were forced to increase salaries offered to attract employees with the necessary skills sets.
The current conditions mean that employees with the right skills can be more selective with new roles and negotiate better salary packages.
This is a perfect time to register for new job alerts and keep a close eye on opportunities to advance your career.
